Hi Paul, About the Everett, I think not. In the bichord section of the bass the tension is running about 40% breaking tension. More likely is excessive string deflection from the agraffe bar or a bur on the bar. If the is a problem in the lower middle section it could be excessive pressure down pressure where friction exceeds breaking %. It is that friction that keeps us in the 65% breaking range in the high treble and low bass. Check this piano out and compare it to another similar model. Newton
