Diapason is the trade name of Ohashi Piano. Mr. Ohashi, a former Yamaha engineer/technician learned piano technology from Bechstein while he was still at Yamaha, established his own company and designed the piano. So, the design philosphy is more like Bechstein, they say. I don't think it's "hand-made" because the price range is almost the same as Yamaha C series, I guess.
