Ok Les, how's this.
New Yamaha studio, customer complaint about a buzz. I went out and found
the problem. It was the bathroom air duct in the wall behind where the
piano was parked. I was "time challenged" that day, and suggested she call
a heating contractor. One week later, customer complains that if this buzz
isn't fixed, she's sending the piano back. Pointing out (again) that the
noise wasn't coming from the piano  didn't seem to make any difference. I
finally went out and drove a couple of sheet rock screws through the duct
walls and into the wall studs. No buzz, customer happy that the piano was
fixed, for the price of a service call, I'm a hero. Sometimes I think we
ought to wear big red noses, honk horns, and hand out animal balloons too.
Come to think of it, maybe we already do.
