Mike,

Perhaps simply installing a heater bar below the keybed would be enough to
prevent condensation in the keyboard and action, but if this problem has been
going on for 50 years, check the action first, though. The symptoms may be
directly related to the moisture or could be attempts to compensate for these
(um, 'lubrication' comes to mind...).
