Hi Joel, Lubricants are for allowing surfaces to move against each other with the lubricant between the two surfaces so the slide is as friction free as possible. Some lubricants work better than others, none are perfect for each application, even within a certain type. Experimentation is a basic requirement for learning which works best in which location. Further an one surface this is unclean, corroded, burred or rough will reduce lubricious effects up to 90$. Before lubricating anything both surfaces must be clean and polished _then_ lubricants will work. In the case of felt any contaminates will need to be cleaned (brushed or sanded) out to secure long term working conditions. The point here is that lubricants can ONLY work against clean surfaces. Don't clean = don't work. Lubricants are NOT next to cleanliness. Newton
