I've never tried it. Logically, there would have to be a qualifying condition or two. If one string had an inharmonicity level that was adequate, and the other was too low, removing wrap on the low one could bring it up to meet the adequate one. If both were too high in inharmonicity, there wouldn't be anything you could do to bring either one of them down to match each other, and the rest of the piano, without adding wrap. That strikes me as an unlikely possibility. Maybe CA? 8^) All in all, I'd tend to leave it broke unless I could fix it proper. I leave a WHOLE LOT of 'em broke! Those that I get the chance to fix, I fix them as well as I know how. Ron N
