Off-Topic: Free DSL

Note that there are two *different* services in discussion. The one
referenced by Patrick does provide a free modem and installation, while
Ron's service at
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~torrella/InfoPlease/HereItIs.html requires
the 10 referrals to get the free modem.

Note also that Patrick's provides download speeds that are very fast but
only about half as speedy as the typical low-end option for pay DSL service.
I was not able to find any information at all from Ron's service about
download and upload speeds.
