I = have=20 a customer looking at a U1, 15 years old that falls into the made for=20 Japanese distribution category. It has only two pedals, otherwise = there is=20 not obvious difference. David Love = _________________________________________________________________________= _________ It used to be that the only difference between Japanese Yamahas = and American Yamahas was that 1) all the grands were made in Japan, 2) = the verticals made in Japan were entirely made in Japan whereas the = verticals "made" in the U.S. had plates, strings, action and keys from = the factory in Japan, but the cases and assembly were done at the = Everett factory in Michigan, which Yamaha bought. The "import" = verticals had slightly nicer hardware, smoother plate finish, and maybe = slightly better quality control but otherwise not much difference. = Whether this is still true or not I don't know, but I'm sure any Yamaha = dealer or company literature would explain. =20 ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
