It depends on the plastic used. For instance, the ABS Styrene used by Kawai in their new pianos will absolutely not degrade......ever. It is a little like "Lexan", a space age plastic with a life of about 500 years. One of the things I like about these actions is,,,,, once a flange made out of this stuff is traveled, it STAYS traveled.
