Yes it will cause corrosion!  I have seen it do this often during a 30 year
career as a fire fighter.  Once our department had a van stolen. the thief
discharged a BC extinguisher (sodium bicarb) inside.  First all of the
wiring in the dash corroded. Then the metal between the van ribs and the
skin and on and on.

The ABC (trisodium phosphate) is worse.
