Patrick, what does the following line mean:

> 1. The bass side support stud bent forward, pulling the action bracket
>forward which in turn had pulled the stickers out of line

If this is the support upon which the action bracket sits and it is bent (toward you) forward, then I figure the momentum of impact caused the heavy keybed to continue moving (backward and upward), bending the support causing the upward movement of the action. But, how come it didn't crack the bracket?

If you are absolutely certain that the keybed is now in place because you have examined how it intersects with the inner cabinet and how it rides upon the spacer at the protruding flange, then why not take the support stud from the mid treble for bass use and see how the stickers line up. I don't think you've overlooked anything else that it could be. You've just encountered a piano that's severly "bent out of shape", but fixable.

We have the age, but what's the make?
