FWIW, the October, 2000 issue of  "Woodworker's Journal" has an =
interesting article on shellac. For example, its used to make time =
release medicines; it's a confectioner's glaze to make fruit and =
chocolate shiny, and other neat stuff totally unrelated to finishing =
wood (although that's covered) and voicing piano hammers (they didn't =
even mention that). Amazing stuff! But then again I'm easily =
amused...amazed!
