I've done a little research since my last post, so for those not as far along as I am, here's some info I found: Supershuttle goes to Hyatt from BWI @ $45 for 3 or $50 for 4 (I didn't ask about 1 or 2). The Supershuttle call desk is between baggage claim areas 6 & 7 on the lower level. Shuttles leave airport every 1/2 hour (6:15, 6:45, etc). The MARC train goes from BWI to Union Station via the Penn Line. From there take the Metro to Metro Center via Red Line, transfer to Blue Line to Crystal City, or (this looks shorter) from Union Station take Red Line to Gallery Pl., transfer to Yellow Line to Crystal City. For public transportation once you get there, I checked one sample: to get to the Smithsonian you could take the 9A Metro bus at Jefferson Davis Hwy & 20th St.(the hotel is at 2799 JD Hwy, so it looks like it would be about an 8-block walk), then take the Metro Blue Line to the Smithsonian Metro station. The bus fare is $1.10 and the rail fare is also $1.10. If any of you local people have any tips, I'm sure a lot of us would appreciate hearing about the details of negotiating the DC area via public transportation. Bob Anderson Tucson, AZ
