Hi, I am using a very old, cast iron glue pot, made like a double boiler, with a screw on the bottom to set the thermostat. I've used the new pots that don't use water, but don't like them. I once saw a glue pot in a junk store just like mine, but it meant for a wood stove (!) as it had a small indentation to set in one of the openings. Sorry I passed it up! I would suggest that anyone who is interested get the book by Craig Brougher called : The Orchestrion Builders Manual. He has a chapter on hot glue and it's properties and additives that affect it's drying time and bonding strength. He also gave me a great idea to use Vlasic Pickle jars with different thicknesses of glue, and keep them in my fridge. By the way, if don't use my glue for a period of time, I do not cover it, as mold will grow. Berley A Firmin II Bayou La Combe, Louisiana
