Folks,

When I was weening myself off the SAT to become an Aural tuner, I made sure I set
up my 'test' intervals so they were very consistant, no matter if I was tuning a
4th or a 5th. I made sure that, if I was tuning a 4th, that the Major 3rd 1st
test was always the same beat as the next 4th I would tune..same with the 5th -
that 10th was always the same no matter what 10th I was tuning in the temperment.
I was able to practice this on the dealer floor, so I was at a great advantage as
far as time was concerned - i wasn't doing this in the customer's home right
away.

Tom, this method helped me alot to become an aural tuner and to hear the slower
beating 4ths and 5ths in my temperment - maybe it will work for you, if you tune
4ths and 5ths in your temperment - that's how I was taught.
