Hi Dave, The CT, USA chapter has a memorial fund that was established before I became a member, so I don't know the history of how it started. I could find out for you if you really want to know. It is awarded to a member, usually an Associate, every year who has shown dedication to PTG and the chapter and a willingness to become a better technician. The award is $200.00 and is given in hopes that the money be used to attend a convention but it is up to the recipient as to how the money should be spent. ----- Original Message ----- From: David Renaud <studiorenaud@qc.aibn.com> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Monday, April 17, 2000 7:38 AM Subject: Guild Sponsorships > Have other chapters used funds to sponsor members to attend seminars? > If so, what form has is taken? > Perhaps a small subsidy for associates that intend to take the exams > there. > Perhaps for people that have never been to a conference before. > As a non-profit organization can we do such as thing, > or could this be interpreted as "paying ourselves" to go to a > convention? > Curious as to what other chapters have done in the past. > > Thanks > Dave Renaud > RPT, Canada > >
