Arthur, I see from the directory that you are a PTG member. Congratulations! You have at your disposal a wealth of technical literature in the form of several booklets of articles reprinted from years of Journals. One of these books covers everything you would ever need to know (mostly) to do highest quality key recovering and associated repairs. One hint ... ditch the file for trimming keytops (the Dremel is no more appropriate for trimming keytops than trimming your fingernails). Use a router with flush cutting bit. Details in the reprint book mentioned above. Another hint ... learn the name 'Spurlock'! Good luck and best regards, Stan Kroeker Registered Piano Technician "Arthur Sacco Jr." wrote: > > List: > Any suggestions on filing plastic key tops (.075) would be much > appreciated. > What type file(S)? put them in a vise? can you use a Dremel tool or will > it heat up > the plastic? Bench sander? Thanks in advance. Arthur
