Re clarifing changing Steinway specs

Hey Robin it's a big pot stir away :-).............but the only thing that 
seems to be "set in concrete" are these technicians from S&S Hamburg. It is 
literally impossible to regulate 'all' S&S, either Hamburg or New York, to 
one set of specs, it just don't work....ohh it might get them all playing but 
performing at their best?? Nope won't happen. Never has and unless something 
drastic happens at S&S it never will.  The ten year old 'B' that started this 
thread was probably not regulatable to "spec" either. S&S does not have a 
specific spec anyway for most regulating operations...usually what the spec 
book says is "start" at or "commencing"  with, or "at the factory", or 
"apporximately"...and these terms don't mix well with any "concrete" mixture 
that I am aware of. :-)
