I use the following tools on site. One large Phillips screwdriver bit and one large flat-head bit, both with a square end which fits in my tuning hammer. I believe Schaff sells them. Or you can get "brace bit" screw drivers at the local hardware store. For bolts, I use a good ole socket set; (3/8' drive) with a set of metric and English sockets. I haven't found a plate that I couldn't tighten yet. ( I only go through this procedure once, not every time I see the piano.) -----Original Message----- From: Staccatomusic@cs.com <Staccatomusic@cs.com> To: pianotech@ptg.org <pianotech@ptg.org> Date: Saturday, April 01, 2000 12:28 PM Subject: Re: tools for plates? >I was curious about what kind of on the sight tools tuners use to tighten >plate bolts.
