TROLL! Gee gang, one can't leave this list for one day without something really monumental taking place. Okay, two days... that's how long it's been since my last read. I enjoyed BillRPT's eloquent reply to this obvious troll -- almost as much as the original post! Read the original again (I know you saved it), and make your own comparisons to recent threads against my guesses below. I'm keeping the post. It's a classic in massaging the various elements of pianotech threads together into one contiguous story. Someday we'll no doubt know the real author. If he were on the list, I'd take a chance on the 'style' being the wry humor of Skip Becker. Meanwhile, consider the following: - ETD's (and discouraging Korg as a viable contender); - CA use in general, and particularly recent threads re:tuning pins; - Label removal (but author left out Bill Simons' fitted aluminum case with the built-in life support systems); - Making a career out of a service call instead of a reasonable tuning time (45 minutes versus bringing a sleeping bag); - Pitch raising = ditto above sentence; - Model (hobby) shop = making common material into something mysterious; - Gold plate = dunno -- takeoff parallelism with 'toothy' nature of key repair kits?; - 2~infinity twists on bass strings and/or overlapped string coils to correct travel; - Hourly rate/getting paid = wage statistics for tuners (I say $45 per hr. you say not enough), failed calls, no-shows, small claims, etc.; - 3~102 percent percent hydrogen peroxide for bleaching ivories (even the original threads on this were humorous); - Black stuff = typical Garfield's residual(?); - White oil = using Protek lube or slickum as a magic elixir on any/everything. - Professionalism (multiple references) = pointing to our lack of on many fronts. I may have missed some alternate points, since I have yet to catch up on recent threads. Jim Harvey, RPT Greenwood, SC harvey@greenwood.net
