Hi Bill,
As far as I know, Garfield's was always green. I bought three bottles the
first year I was in business and used two of them almost immediately. A
couple of years ago, a tech called asking if I had any to bale him out in an
emergency. He replaced it later (rats!) and the newer stuff was a little
brighter green than the old, but still green. Lunsford's "Pin-tite" is
another product that is something different than the glycerin/alcohol of
Garfield's. I don't have a clue what it's made of, but it's a direct action
"restorer" that doesn't rely on absorbtion of moisture to do it's thing.
Maybe that's the stuff you're remembering.
