Damper Configurations

I usually go with what was there.  If trichords are used above F4, however, I
will not usually run them up that high.  Another exception is the problematic
dampers, for instance, found in S&S Ds, note F2.  

I will use Steinway damper felt on Steinways, Yamaha on Yamaha, and will
usually cut my own from strips I get from Pianotek for others.
But not always.
