Thanks for this very careful explanation of your approach.

Now, only one things remains (I think). And, that is how you stretch the
octaves to make the whole thing fit together the way you do.

I think we can all follow what you wrote below. You have mentioned to me
in the past that you can take advantage of the flexibility of octaves to
sort of smooth out the narrow 5ths and in the process make the top of the
piano fit the middle better (somewhat like what I do in the Pure 5ths 
temperament which I discovered, but was not original with me).
