I have a hard time letting this thread go by, especially with a calling such
as this, so I'll mak it brief, as I respect this list's primary objective.

I whole-heartedly agree with the philosophy of the above technicians. In the
face of "less-than-conscionable" sales tactics in Chicagoland, it is a daily
struggle to attempt to appeal to a customer's sense of intellect when it comes
to the weekly 50-70% sales gimmicks, among other objectionable activities.
All any of us can do is attempt to educate and hope that logic and truth
prevail.

So often, only an independent teacher or a technician (who's not on the take!)
are a consumer's only hope to help clear up the "misinformation" that so many
dealers pile on. Customers don't want to believe salespeople, and with what
goes on around here, I don't blame them. So every time you independent
technicians get that call from a wounded consumer reaching out for a
lifejacket, please do what you can. In many cases, you're all that can
prevent them from a possible disaster.
