The myths I'm familiar with all seem to relate to the immortality, magic tone wood, magic finish, magic construction methods, unknowable "old world master craftsman" secrets, and "when in doubt, just shim it and add bearing" dogma relating to old boards. I guarantee that there are myths regarding what constitiues rebuilding, and what any given level of work, and resulting functionality, is worth in different areas of the country. That's what I think we ought to be wondering about, but that's only my opinion. Trot out some of these new soundboard myths and let's discuss 'em. Ron
