Most pianos with a poly finish don't have a decal but the name is very thin brass that is stuck to the wood then finish sprayed over and around the brass. The brass can be polished just like any other brass. I would suggest using Flitz, available from Pianotek. You can remove the letters but you will have raw wood underneath and large chunks of finish missing. My suggestion is leave it alone or send the fall board back to the manufacturer for replacement and refinishing. Newton
