Hi David, The glass harmonica was invented by Ben Franklin and is played by hand, much the same way you run wet fingers around the edge of a wine or water glass. There may be a foot pedal or electrified mechanism that sets the whole thing rotating. Keep a bowl of ice water handy and place your fingers along the upper edges as they spin and the sound is heavenly. They are laid out like a piano with the sharps indicated with gold, I believe, along those edges. I hope you can hear it played. Quite an amazing sound. Sandy Northrop PTG Associate Boston Chapter
