John, It is very easy to weight a grand. You take a scale on which you can weight your own weight (I don't know how you Americans call such things, you can stand on them with both your feet.). You also take two pieces of wood or books or anything that is just as thick as the scale. Then you place each item under a leg of the grand. Now you have the amount of weight that rests on one leg.
