repairing caster

i have a question, sort of the opposite of the enlarging caster hole
thread. last night i found one of our yamaha verticals limping. when i
put it on it's back i found that the screws holding the caster sleeve were
not only striped out but the wool around them was destroyed also. i have
no choise but to drill it out and plug but i have never had to plug a hole
this big, like over two inches in diameter. i have a hole saw that will
make a pretty hole but how do i make a plug to fit?

btw, thanx to all who responded to my glazier query. i was thinking more
down the line of glacier, not glazier. it makes sense now.
