Dear Clyde and Everybody Else -- Concerning unusually stable pianos ... I just tell the customers like it is -- that I would like to see the piano at least once a year as if giving it a well-baby check-up. I explain to them that tuning is only one component of service, and that the check-up may entail a little action chiropractic, voicing accupuncture, or a good cleaning -- whatever the piano may need to get it into its best working order. Z! Reinhardt RPT Ann Arbor MI diskladame@provide.net ---------- >>snip!<< I have this question. If I find a piano remarkably close to pitch which hasn't been tuned for ten years, do I touch up the tuning and then say "see you again in _another_ ten years"? More frequent tuning doesn't seem to make sense to the owner in some of these situations, but I can't make myself recommend they leave it go that long, even if it is rarely used. Clyde Hollinger
