Liquid Wrench is essentially kerosene and does travel, it must to
lubricate frozen threads.

WD-40 travels as well but because it is 1/3 lubricating oil it may
travel a little less.  The trick is to apply it with a small artist's
brush as well.  Spray it into the lid then apply with the brush,
sparingly.
