There is NO doubt that the advertisement for a piano tech is NOT related to any portion of the Sherman Act. I seriously doubt that any discussion of prices within this forum would or could be construed as "price fixing" as well. In December 1998 in the Professional Refinisher's Group (prg@lists.northrim.net) there was a rather large discussion of prices as well as complete price lists posted. I've not heard of any repercussions. An ongoing exchange of information from which we all learn something is what the Internet is all about. From "hate" newsgroups to pictures of Dr. Laura, I have to wonder if there is sufficient justification for paranoia about an open discussion of prices. As long as there is no attempt to establish a regional or national price scheme, I suggest that the topic is fair game. The purpose of the Act was to protect the public from any specific industry conspiring to "gouge" the public through inflated prices. I personally see no reason to avoid the subject.
