Patrick,

You're guess is correct but I would say about _$1500_ more, though, for
an estimate. Putting in a new pin block is major surgery. Of course, you
could save them a little by replacing _sections_ of pin block by routing
out just the areas with tuning pin holes and epoxying in new material.
But, still, you'd be talking $2K minimum (labor) and you haven't said
anything about the condition of the soundboard. Or action. Or...

The last person who had a similar request for me decided what they
really wanted was to *refinish* the piano and then have me tune it and
"fix a couple of notes." $3500 for the refinisher and $350 for
technician. So, I always wonder what people mean by "rebuild."
