<<It was a Mason & Hamlin upright that Chris flung with his trebuchet in the
Northern Exposure episode called "Burning Down The House". In a later episode
Ruth-Ann says it was a Baldwin, but Maggie (the owner of the piano) clearly
states it was an M&H in that episode.>>

Who would believe a character reading a script?

If you look carefully, and run the videotape of the trebuchet flinging frame
by frame, you will see that several pianos were used, then edited into one
fling. The plates as seen under the keybed are obviously different. There
were absolutely two different ones during the initial launch, and more likely
and indeterminately, three. I wouldn't be surprised to find that they flung
ten and took the best clips from each to make the sequence.

If you have the videotape, check it out. ( And, the keys sure launched
themselves out of the keybed easily! - ? )
