List, excluding B. Bremmer;
The following reply is rather acromonious and 'I apologize' in advance for
letting myself get drawn into this fray as that has been the apparent
intention of Mr. Bremmer all along. I will not reply to any other post, on
any subject, posted by Mr. Bremmer----------------------------------

In a message dated 4/10/1999 11:07:04 AM, Bill Bremmer wrote:

Mr. Bremmer;
I will reply to your response and after this I will not reply or respond to
anything, good or bad, that you post to this list. Since you have taken the
trouble to block me from your e.maill account on AOL I don't know why you
waste your valuable time with anything I might write anyway.

<<"I have seen a few of the pianos from Eastern Europe that Antares spoke of
and
they really are bad.">>
<<"Yes, Jim, many of the Eastern Block pianos are substandard, so are some
from
Asia and so *were* some from America. However, those from this country which
were really no good aren't around anymore because of that.">>

Do you include Kimball in this 'blanket' 'generalized' 'all inclusive'
statement? They "aren't around anymore".

<<"I do believe, however that most of the Kimballs, Wurlitzers and Acrosonics
that were made in this country and that were regulated in the factory and met
reasonable standards and which can still be reasonably maintained will be
around quite a bit longer than you will.">>

Leaving yourself quite a bit of 'wiggle' room aren't you? If I may try your
preferred method of changing words and meanings I 'could' say. ......If the
pianos were any good to start with they will last a considerable time but
only given proper maintenance by a 'professional' technician........ you of
course would add some personal derogatory remarks, toward me, but I won't
presume to do so for you...............you do such an admirable job by
yourself.

<<"So, how far do you want to go in your negative judgments about which
pianos
are suitable for *you* to work on? Shall we draw up a list for all to see?
Shall we make it an appendix to Larry Fine's book?">>

I defy, challenge, and demand that you, Mr. Bremmer, name one piano that 'I'
have said that I would not work on by class/type/manufacturer/wealth of
owner. So draw up your 'truthful' list, it won't add much to Larrys book I
assure you and I will even pay for the inclusion of same.
If you can't provide the above information will I receive a public apology?
But you would rather deal in personal attack, implication, insinuation,
inuendo and outright lies than the facts wouldn't you?
Of course if I could allow myself to charge 300 dollars to replace a
Kimball damper rod hanger bracket I might be a little less selective of the
pianos I do work on.

<<"Shall I tell my mother who along with my (now deceased) father who, with
their hard-earned money bought us five children the best piano they could
afford so that we could have the privilege of piano and music lessons that
they never had that *you* think the instrument they bought was a substandard
"PSO"? Shall I tell her what the "S" sometimes stands for? ">>

Mr. Bremmer in my world PSO stands for piano 'shaped' object, as you well
know in spite of your sophmoric prevarication on the subject. The evidence is
in the many posts you have made decrying the use of that term as well as the
term POS.
So tell your Mother what you will in your world, but in mine the 'S' in PSO
stands for Shaped. Also when have 'I' ever called Kimball "a sustandard
"PSO""?
That I have not done so won't make any difference to you though, will it?

<<"Shall I tell my sister, who now has that piano and whose two children are
now learning music and piano what *your* opinion of Kimball is?">>

This would be an interesting conversation Mr. Bremmer as you have absolutely
no idea what 'my' opinion of Kimball pianos are. But that won't bother you
will it?
I am sure, based on your track record, that you will come up with some
suitably degrogatory comments that I would be proud to have made.

<<"That piano, by the way, remains quite reliably at pitch and stays in tune
remarkably well, season to season, has flawless alignment and is regulated to
standard specs.">>
If the piano is as well taken care of as you imply,.....why is it still
"regulated to standard specs"? I don't doubt that this piano is very good for
its purpose location and usage. I also don't doubt what you say, as her
brother is a self proclaimed care provider for all instruments regardless of
their station in life.

<<"I wonder what they would think of you as a technician if I told them what
your opinion and all of those who like to spout off the "PSO" designation,
"poor scaling" etc. is?">>

As I have already stated Mr. Bremmer, you have absolutely no idea of what
my opinion of the Kimball piano is. Furthermore you cannot show, or
'honestly' relate, one instance of my decrying, verbally or written, Kimballs
as having "poor scaling". But tell them what you will. You'll screw it up
anyway, just based on your past performance of quoting me, my skill,
knowledge, and my intentions.

<<"Would you care to tell Roger Weisensteiner RPT what your opinion is?">>

Mr. Bremmer I would be happy to, although why he would be interested in my
deficient observations at this late date I don't know. While you are
disturbing Mr. Weisensteiner, with this childish prattle, be sure and include
your remark of
" However, those from this country which were really no good aren't around
anymore because of that.". I'm sure he will be as interested in your opinion
of why Kimball is no longer "around anymore" as any lies you 'might' tell him
about my opinions of same.

<<"As for regulation, did you take the PTG Standardized Technical Exam using
the
Kimball action models that The Kimball company so graciously donated to PTG
for that purpose?">>

No I did not. I used a S&S action model that I "so craciously" provided my
chapter with. What difference does it make whether Kimball "so graciously
provided" or not? Does the providing of action models make the Kimball
automatically a fine piano? I think not, at least not any more than Hitler
having stopped run away inflation, fixing unemployment, and making the trains
run on time make him a great humanitarian.

<<" Or, were you one of the good ol' boys who got in the way
they do in MPT by simply "declaring" that you are a "professional" and do not
need to prove that you actually know how to regulate an action?">>
Bill Bremmer RPT
Madison, Wisconsin">>

No I took the current version of all the exams. Due to the compassion and
leniency, and from your standpoint probable incompetence, of my examiners I
passed each part on the first try. Would you like me to save you some time
and tell Skip Becker, Don Lykins, Bob Carr, Tom Servinsky and Brian Scott of
their inept and disgraceful handling of my examinations ?
---end of response gratuitous comments follow-----------

Mr. Bremmer your continual insistence of denigrating fellow technicians
and their opinions/skills/knowledge on this list does you, nor PTG, nor the
list participants any good. Furthermore your continual references to the MPT
list as the "loser list" does not set lightly with your fellow professionals,
some if not most of whom have friends who are members of MPT. In point of
fact a rather large percentage of members of MPT are also members of PTG and
they are RPTs. I am not a member of MPT but I feel that your constant
denigrating remarks about those who are shows a complete lack of common
courtesy toward fellow technicians and is a sorry example of professional
conduct. For one who proclaims being a CTE publicly and using that
designation as a platform to denigrate others, and their skills is, in my
opinion, beneath contempt.

List again I apologize for entering the fray and filling, nay wasting,
bandwidth.
I will keep my promise.
