Seven to eight swinkgs does not sound like the pinning is loose
anywhere, unless the fit between the ears of the shanks are too tight.
Unpin one and see.

ALso I have had click problems with very slightly loose knuckles.

Very slightly loose hammers have been a common source of noise.
