Well, Andy, as some one else posted, just rub the excess off with your
finger or thumb.  It rolls up into a ball for me off of glossy surfaces.
Note:  I'm working with finger tips so caloused that I cut the tip of my
thumb with the table saw a few years back, and it hardly bled.  I've still
got 10 pinkies, and with that little wake up call, I think I'll keep 'em.  A
sharp blade makes for a nicer looking wound also ....... not all gnarly and
ragged like I had.  Cleaning the debris out of the cut from the teeth of the
saw blade was a matter of letting nature take it's course.
