Carnuba and dust collectors

Hi All,
Yesterday I bought a pound of carnuba wax flakes/crystals/powder.
($16.95) I tried melting it in a baby food jar in my electric glue pot.
Didn't work. I then took it upstairs and put the jar in a pan and boiled
water with the jar sitting in it. It melted. I let it cool and it
solidified again and came out just as hard as it was before except it was
now a solid mass. I then took the melted carnuba and melted my regular wax
and mixed the two. Does any one have experience with the proper way to mix
this carnuba to where it is useable? I suspect that the carnuba did not mix
with my regular wax and when I get to it in the can it will be clunks of
hard mass? The people at the woodstore didn't know any more than I do.

Is anyone using the bag type dust collectors in their shop? I looked at the
Jet 1 hp unit and the Delta 1.5 HP unit. Has anyone tried picking up
shaving from a working lathe? Are you using a second stage (trash can) to
collect the heavier stuff before it goes into the bag? Any opinions?
Thanks

I thought this would make a good Christmas present for my wife, don't
you think? :>)
