Young Chang Aftertouch

Hello,
All excellent ideas on this aftertouch problem. Additional
thoughts; Check the damper upstop rail. If too low, it may not
noticeably reduce the keydip during testing with a gauge as its' felt
is pretty squishy, but during normal playing this will create havoc with
aftertouch. Make sure the jack is able to get out from the knuckle, i.e
too thick of jack stop felt used in the window--(unlikely but
possible). If the keys are regulated too high, front rail bushings on
sharps can catch the white keys and reduce their dip. A dip block can
miss this as often the whole back of the key gets lifted up especially
if balance holes are loose. Press down lightly when checking dip to look
for hidden squishy resistance.
Good Luck,
