Dear Avery and list, I seemed to have come across this problem a number of times in some old country churches where there has been a problem with mice. They love to get inside the pianos and do their "bizness" right on the bridges (in uprights).......either tenor or bass. The urine causes a very rapid deterioration of the string right at the bridge point and doesn't take long at all for it to weaken the string to the point of failure. Regards, Country Boy dale
