	Have you looked at the latest digital phones?  They have caller ID and
voice mail, and pager included in an all-in-one unit for a reasonable
price.  In San Diego, you can choose a pricing plan from about $35.00
up.  You can have the phone beep like a pager if you're too busy to
answer, check the caller ID to see who it is, and retrieve any message
that may be in your voice mail.  Then you can call back on the spot if
need be.  If you purchase a pager, a cell phone, caller ID etc.
separately,  you'll spend a lot more.  If you think this might be an
option, be sure to find out if you can retrieve your messages from a
land-line phone, or you'll have to pay for airtime to get them through
the cell phone.
