Hello List,
Back when I serviced rural towns, I handed out 13 cent stamped
postcards with my address, phone, price structure, a place for the
customer to put their name, address, and phone and their most available
days or times. I said to allow two-three weeks for me to phone inorder
for appointments to accumulate for their area and reduce or eliminate
mileage charges. (increases referal incentives.) People wouldn't throw
these out because they had postage on them and it saved customers a long
distance call, since I would be calling them. I didn't waste time
asking for addresses and phone numbers since I already had them and an
appropriate map handy to make the giving of directions faster. Non
serious customers wouldn't waste my time since they never filled out a
card. I sorted them geographically and would draw maps right on the
cards themsevles and carry them to the appoinment, keeping my
appointment book less messy. This worked great. I think I got back
most of them, often many months later.
