We have yet to get to the point of discussing what we think these things sound like ! Perhaps it will settle down when the politics are out of the way, and we can talk about the effects different temperaments have on compositions, i.e. does a Kirnberger or a Young make ms 35 of the Walstein stand out best, or does the Pathetique really need three keys with a full syntonic comma in them? The flames and lectures will die down, after all, how much repetition is warranted? There is something more enjoyable to debate, and that is the music itself. Just wait until there is enough exposure to the temperaments. Even though there are only two out right now, that I know of, there are plans for several large projects, (LVB among them) that will probably go with historical tunings on modern pianos.
