Just returned from inspecting a "Blessing" brand console/spinet piano, made in china ten years ago. It had a real nice candy apple finish on the outside. Inside - every action part was very loose. The people had moved it from wet Sidney, Australia, to Colorado, then to even drier Phoenix. The pin torque across the piano was 1 to 5 inch lbs. Tapping didn't add much, as the pins seem bottomed out. They said it was just fine in Australia for ten years. The action design reminded one of early birdcage uprights. Weird way to install action(in a box frame), has a clunky spinet drop mechanism to kind of whippens, on top of which sits the console type action, which can be lifted out without detaching the spinet drop wires. Horrendous workmanship. Just FYI Bill Simon Phoenix
