Hi to those interested in action cleaning

My son Jim Jr. for several years has been "sand blasting" with finely ground
walnut shells. This does not leave any grit in the keybushings. The only
caution to be observed is that you should not linger too long in any one
spot because it will erode the softer parts of wood. This will make the
action brackets look new again. The keys, action parts and hammers will be
clean after this treatment. If you need to clean the softer flat damper
felts, it is better to decrease the air pressure of the blaster. Regular
pressure works OK on the harder wedge damper felts. It will remove the
marks of the dirty or rusty strings.
