Hi David, There are some excellent tuners who spend most of their time rebuilding, and many retired RPTs who do a few for extra $. (some of these guys are the best!). One nice thing about this profession is you can slow down without having to quit. It might be better for tuners not to do so many as tuning is hard on the ears and body. There are also many isolated communities which simply can't support a full time RPT.
