I would add to this topic a tip on a great tool for field adjustments
of grand actions.  The let-off and rep. upstop (drop) can be adjusted 
in 20 to 30 minutes with great accuracy. The beauty of it, is that it
weighs only .7 oz and fits in your shirt pocket.
(alright, so it sticks out _a little)

PPS. I just restrung a Chickering Quarter Grand and the precision
of the Becket Tool makes for regimented beckets. Coupled with
string spacing over pressure ridges and felt tenor portion it makes
the stringing results look like the product of a_meticulous_craftsman, 
without all the practice and effort.
