Dear List: I inspected a piano for a customer today. 4'10", looked for all the world like a no-name brand, no serial number apparent. In the top section, nest to the tuning pins, was a cast iron plate with "Brambach, 1923, or whatever" - the piece had been mitered to fit the top section, epoxied in, and painted to match the plate. (not such a good match) Any chance in a million that this is a Brambach? I don't see very many, is there a particular identifying feature of a Brambach? Incidentally, - the customer said that he had called a number of technicians for an inspection and they didn't want to even come out because it was a Brambach. Am I missing something? Why not?
