Like Barrie said, maybe the guy was just shucking you. Then again, there are
a lot of weird ideas out there concerning soundboards. True, they are
incredibly complex in the details of operation, but they do conform to the
laws of physics, rather than magic. How about asking him (her?) for a more
detailed explanation? It will save a lot of time and speculation and give us
something definite to chew on.
