> Hello List, Question for those who have used CA glue to treat >pinblocks. I have noticed that the fumes from the thin CA glue are quite >strong. How do you handle the fumes when treating a pinblock with CA in a >customer's home? Please assume that the piano is not worth moving to the >shop for this procedure. Thanks, Dale Dale Probst >Registered Piano Technician >Ward & Probst, Inc. >Piano & Organ Service >Wichita Falls, TX >wardprobst@cst.net At the very least, two strong fans pulling the fumes away from you, ideally straight out a window. Ideally, use a state of the art respirator which feeds you air from outside. And always wear gloves to protect your skin. Stop work and go for a short walk if the fumes start "getting to you". The shop where I buy CA keeps it locked because some foolish lowlifes buy or steal it to get high (while runing their lungs & liver). Patrick Draine Billerica, MA
